“Blogger. Profit with Adsense revenue. Sell ads. Easy to get and install. How to put Ad Sense on your website directions for publishers. Don’t complicate the steps to installation! It’s easy as one, two, three.”

When you want to make money (via Google) on your web site, by selling advertising space, you are a publisher using Adsense. This is what the article is about.
The people in the market who buy advertisements (or a spot on your website) for the products or services they sell, are known as advertisers and will use Google AdWords to buy advertising spots
Note exception: Many websites and blogs (Bloggers) also re-invest a portion of their AdSense profits to buy AdWords to promote their site and bring new visitors or viewers their way.
Adsense = making money from advertising. Make sense?
AdWords = spending money to buy or rent top target words or ads (space on your site).
When first looking at your AdSense account it seems very confusing (and it will become even more so if you go in and start to modify a bunch of settings).
Adsense is not complicated though, and in fact is automated (automatic) once you get your AdSense account registered, and take a few simple steps.
*One:
If you have not done so, sign up with Google Adsense. It is a simple affair. All you really need is the web site (website) or blog URL which you control, a phone, and a bank account.
Adsense will do a small test deposit to verify your bank while you wait. It often takes a few weeks to receive your approval with Adsense, but don’t worry, you don’t need to be a big shot to have an account. You mainly need to be who you say you are.
*Two:
After your approval we need to activate some settings. We are dealing mainly with Blogger Blogs here, but other Adsense usages are going to be just as easy.
After you log in, go to the “My Account” tab and verify and adjust all the settings. Check that the “Tax Information” section is correct.
Next, check the “Account Settings” section (under the same “My Account tab) and verify your address, email, and payment preferences. At the bottom of this page is the “Property Information” area. Write down the AdSense number(s) listed here! Often the numbers are all the same with different letters in front of them.
Make sure you noted the Property Information AdSense numbers. We are using them next.
Note: Adsense will payout on scheduled dates after your account (the money they owe you) reaches $100 dollars US, or anything above $10 if you decide to close your account.
Do a Google search for “AdSense Payment Guide” to get the specifics.
*Three: Activate Adsense for your blog so you can place ads.
We are assuming you have already burned your blog with FeedBurner. If not, it only takes a short time and the directions are on the Burn your Blog page.
With the AdSense Property Information numbers you gathered from the last step, go ahead and log in to FeedBurner.
Once in your FeedBurner account:
- click your Feed Title (name of your blog)
- then click the Monetize tab
- now click on the Google Adsense Logo
Now either be asked to add the number we gathered earlier (or taken straight to AdSense if you had previously completed this step). Either way you will end up in your AdSense account page. Just complete the simple steps as directed, and nothing more (in other words don’t try to fool around with all the other settings you see in AdSense because everything will work just fine as it is). We’ll look at Adsense advanced settings later.
Now go to your Blogger Dashboard >> Layout >> Page Elements >> Add a Gadget >> and click on Adsense
In the window that pops up, pick your Ad Format and Colors.
Note that the “publisher ID” we found in Adsense and submitted to Feedburner is noted at the bottom of this window. You can put ads in any of your blogs now. All your ads will automatically set themselves up with AdSense after you burn them with FeedBurner and run through Step 3 for each of them.
Later, you can tweak the settings, but for now, you are in like flint.
Don’t forget the most important element of advertising, the Content and quality of your Blog.
Basic Adsense Blogger Blog ad allotment:
Basically you can choose (per page):
- 3 ads from the top half = Ad Units
- 3 ads from the bottom = Five Link Units
You can also build and add 2 search units from the Adsense website at this time.
The window above is from the Add a Gadget >> Adsense from your Layout >> Page Elements view in your Blogger control panel or dashboard.
If you accidentally add more than 3 of each, the extras will just not show up on your blog, so don’t loose sleep over it if you don’t get them right off the bat.
Play around with the placement and colors. The content will be fed from Google based on what shows up in your page. Of course there are many ways to fine tune things, but for now we are good to go.
Simple AdSense Rules:
- Don’t click on your own ads. Of course you are going to accidentally click a few now and then, but try to avoid it. “Curiosity killed the cat”.
- Don’t write “click me” around the ads or place them in a manner that intentionally tricks people into entering the ad.
- Don’t take part in any schemes based on getting clicks (even by asking other people to click away), except of course for the scheme that works. Content, content, content (of your blog).
- Don't have adult content, violence or excessive profanity, drugs (including alcohol and tobacco), or copyrighted material on your site.
- Don’t mess with the AdSense code.
- The rest is obvious, and you would know and be purposefully “not playing by the rules”.
